Our commitment to the environment

Energy supply

A key factor in reducing the negative impact of our business operations on the environment is the conservation of resources in connection with the generation and consumption of energy. A sustainable corporate policy therefore includes the continuous improvement of energy use.

We purchase green electricity at all locations to cover the energy requirements that we cannot meet ourselves. This enables us to save 667,000 kg of CO2 annually compared to the German electricity mix.

Regional suppliers

We are committed to preserving our homeland and the global environment and are constantly working to prevent or reduce the negative impact of our actions on the environment as much as possible. We take this into account during product development, but also and especially when selecting suppliers and service providers within the value chain, preferably from the local area.

Photovoltaics

The PV system installed in Arnstadt in 2024 on the roof of the production hall comprises 1,840 modules covering an area of 3,000 square meters. It generates up to 500,000 kWh of green electricity and covers up to 80% of the production’s electricity requirements.

Electric mobility + Jobrad

We are working consistently to convert our company fleet to electric vehicles, thereby significantly reducing our CO₂ emissions. In addition, we offer our employees a sustainable and healthy alternative for commuting to work with the Jobrad program—environmentally friendly, flexible, and individually customizable.

Nearbees bee colony

Through our Nearbees bee colony, we are strengthening local biodiversity and promoting the diversity of regional plants. At the same time, we are raising awareness among our team of the importance of sustainable environmental projects right on our doorstep.

Legal measures

Of course, we consider legal and regulatory requirements to be absolute minimum requirements, compliance with which is mandatory for us. Where possible and where we believe it to be truly sensible and effective, we independently define measures that go beyond the legal requirements.

The management team is convinced that diversity in practice is much more than just a factor in our company’s success—it is an important contribution to a fairer and more inclusive society. Diversity in the workforce and in our network of suppliers and partners opens up new perspectives, promotes innovation, and strengthens social cohesion. We are committed to equal opportunities, for example through targeted promotion of women and cooperation with workshops for people with disabilities.

Equal rights

We do not accept discrimination on any grounds whatsoever. Origin, gender, religion, skin color, age, political opinion, or sexual orientation must never be grounds for exclusion or discrimination against customers, suppliers, employees, or other partners.

Collaboration

Working with people with disabilities is an important part of our corporate culture. We promote these partnerships wherever it makes sense to do so—for example, in production, where we are supported by a regional workshop with dedicated employees. In this way, we create inclusive workplaces and strengthen mutual respect and understanding within our team.

Non-political company

We are a non-political company. As a manufacturer of customized packaging solutions, our customers often wish to convey political messages. Provided that these messages do not contravene legal regulations, the company will not censor them, even if the messages do not reflect the political opinions of Jung’s decision-makers.

Sponsorship

We also demonstrate our commitment to the community through targeted sponsorship. We support local initiatives and institutions such as the soccer club, the Vaihingen an der Enz secondary school, Wilhelma Zoo, and the children’s village. Through our sponsorship, we aim to promote sports, education, the environment, and social projects, thereby making a sustainable contribution to our region.

The compatibility of family and career is particularly important to our company. We know how important it is to be able to flexibly combine work and private life—especially in challenging family situations.
That is why flexible working time models and individual arrangements for special family circumstances are an integral part of our corporate culture.

Production

Our commitment to production

Packed in Germany

“Packed in Germany” means that we pack our products in Germany. Thanks to our regional partners and service providers, as well as our one-stop processing, we can guarantee short delivery times and routes.

At the same time, we support the local economy. When selecting partners within the value chain, we generally focus on suppliers from Germany and Europe.

Hygiene

As a packaging specialist for food products, we are aware of our responsibility for the food chain. The effectiveness and compliance with the defined measures are continuously monitored to ensure the continuous improvement of our food standards.

Together with suppliers and external service providers, we define requirements regarding the safety of hygiene-sensitive products and foodstuffs.

Hygiene-sensitive and food-related requirements are taken into account during the development of new products and packaging and communicated to the production department and, if necessary, to external service providers and suppliers for implementation.

Safety

We protect our employees from accidents at work, occupational illnesses, and other work-related health hazards. In addition, the company ensures that its infrastructure complies with occupational safety requirements and that effective fire protection measures are in place.

Compliance with statutory occupational health and safety regulations is mandatory, and managers and employees are instructed to comply with all statutory and additional occupational health and safety regulations and to actively participate in occupational health and safety measures.
